SWEETWATER - HAZY 710 IPA SPOT

Sailorface has been doing a lot of amazing video work for Sweetwater Brewing over the past few years, so when they reached out to me to do a 3D render of a hop for their latest campaign, I was more than happy to hop onboard!

ASK: Animate a 3D hop being squeezed by invisible forces for Sailorface to use in their spot for Sweetwater’s Hazy 710 IPA

This advertisement was used by Sweetwater Brewing Company for ad campaigns on both YouTube and Hulu.

For the hop animation, I found and purchased a 3D hop model that I brought into Houdini. Using a Vellum simulation, I was able to animate the hop being squeezed by invisible forces. I then added a very tiny, subtle layer of red fur. I did all of the texturing, lighting, and cameras in Redshift. The final render was sent to the Sailorface team, where it was comped and edited together with all of their other footage and animations.
